So it's January 1st and I've been out of school for half a year. Finally, I've had a lot of time for myself to think about what I've learned in the past 9 years of music school. Finally working and practicing at my own pace has been both rewarding and challenging.
As many are aware, music world is full of opinions. Throughout the school year, everyone is bombarded with information coming in from all angles. It got to a point where I didn't know what I wanted to do for myself.
The reason I wanted to do this project is because the Bach Solo Violin Sonatas and Partitas is the holy bible for violinists. I think nothing keeps one more honest, both technically and musically, than the Bach Solo Violin.
First one to be released at the end of January, and then one each month following that.
Everything will be posted here:
Also, a very professor who I never personally studied with passed away recently at a very young age. Despite the limited times I've worked with him, I always found myself deeply inspired and motivated by his energy, charisma, and sheer genius. Soon after he passed, I found myself scrolling through his videos on YouTube and discovered a channel of his where he performs all 6 Bach. His musicality and sensitivity left quite an impression on me. He is also a major inspiration for this project. Rest in peace Yehonatan Berick.
